Menstrual Hygiene Management

Menstruation is a natural part of life, but for many girls and women in Sudan and South Sudan, it can lead to shame, school absenteeism, health risks, and social exclusion. At Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation (BGRRF), we believe menstrual health is a human right, not a hidden burden.

Through our Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) program, we provide the tools, education, and support needed for adolescent girls to manage their periods safely, confidently, and with dignity, so they never have to miss school, hide in silence, or feel ashamed of their bodies.

Why Menstrual Hygiene Matters

In the communities we serve:

  • Many girls lack access to basic sanitary products

  • Clean, private toilets and water are often unavailable in schools

  • Taboos and stigma prevent open conversations

  • Menstruation leads to missed classes, dropped dreams, and lost potential

Without proper menstrual support, girls are at risk of falling behind, dropping out, or facing early marriage and health complications. BGRRF is working to change that.

With your support, we can expand access to menstrual hygiene tools and education for thousands more girls across Sudan and South Sudan. Help us keep girls in school, safe, and thriving.
