At Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation (BGRRF), we believe that access to reproductive health education is not only a matter of public health, it’s a matter of human dignity, justice, and empowerment. Grounded in Catholic social teaching and community values, our Reproductive Health Education program equips girls and women with the knowledge and tools they need to lead safe, healthy, and dignified lives.
In many of the communities we serve, especially in conflict-affected and remote areas of Sudan and South Sudan, women and girls face extreme barriers to reproductive health information. Cultural stigma, lack of access to services, and harmful gender norms leave them vulnerable to early pregnancy, preventable diseases, school dropouts, and lifelong cycles of poverty and exclusion.
We work to break this silence by offering age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and faith-affirming education that promotes:
Understanding of bodily development and changes
Menstrual hygiene management
Prevention of early and unintended pregnancies
Awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Rights, respect, and protection from exploitation
Informed decision-making and self-worth
We continue to strengthen our reproductive health programming through partnerships with schools, clinics, dioceses, and women-led groups. Our goal is to reach even more girls and communities with life-changing knowledge, resources, and support.
At Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation (BGRRF) , we envision ‘Reconciled families united in God’s Love and leading dignified lives’.
